高校海外語学研修No.10

グエルフ大学での授業、最終日を迎えました。今日も快晴。良い天気です。

みんなの様子はいつもとあまり変わらずにいます。今日が最終日の自覚がある人が少ないのかな。。。

朝はグエルフ大学構内にある先住民の方の慰霊碑に向かって黙祷を捧げました。

その後、カナダ国歌の練習をしました。が、みんな歌詞を見ないと歌えません。授業内で練習したり、歌詞を頭に入れてくるよう伝えたのに。。。心配になることばかりで頭を抱えてしまいます。

歌うときの作法も教えてもらいました。脱帽をし、カナダの人たちは胸に手をあてず直立のまま歌うそうです。

フェアウェルパーティーでは先生・バディ・ホストファミリーが来てくれて、このカナダ国歌を豊山生が斉唱します。豊山生が大きな声で歌う姿は毎年感動を生んでいますので、今年も頑張ってほしいです。

午前の授業はディベートです。今までやったアクティビティでどれが良かったか、チームに分かれて討論しました。だいぶ盛り上がりました。

お昼にはランチを食べた後に売店へ行って買い物をしてきた人もいました。グエルフ大学グッズです。

午後のスタートはカナダ国歌の練習。声はバッチリ出ていますが、歌詞を覚えられていないので、あとは時間との闘いです。その後はフェアウェルパーティーの準備。サンキューカード作り、メモリープロジェクト、会場の飾りつけを行いました。

ピザ休憩を挟んで、Farewell party！パーティーの次第は以下の通りです。

Foods in Canada is great.Canadian people are so kind.Nature in here is also great.

This is my first time to go to abroad,so I was a little nervous.But my host family and Canadian students are very kind.So I felt relleved.The first thing I noticed was how quickly the week by.Because I experienced many fun time.I learn new culture,I make friends,everything was new.I felt like I don’t want to leave this place.That’s why thought of going back in just a week makes me feel so lonely and sad.So,I also want to make the most of this coming week.

I went bowling for my host family’s daughter’s birthday party.We ate a big pizza there.I was surprised that the bowling rules were different from those in Japan.

I spent a week in Canada and was able to feel the cultural difference with Japan.For example, people, cityscape, food, and way of thinking.

It’s a lot of fun. I’m happy that my English got across better than I expected. I’ll give it my all for the remaining week!

I spent a week in Canada and was truly amazed by the differences in culture and the vastness of the land.I was also surprised by the difference in scale and size when I went to the supermarket with my host family over the weekend.This past week has been very fulfilling and enjoyable.

I spent this past week visiting Lake Huron and going on bike rides.I really enjoyed both of those activities.I’ll do my best for the rest of the week,too.

Canada is a very nice place.The food is delicious,and the scenery and townscapes are beautiful.However,the sunsets late,which throws off my sense of time.
